Dining Out Near Canton, Michigan

Overview

Quote:
I live in Canton, Michigan, which is a suburb of Detroit. I am pretty close to Ann Arbor, Michigan, widely known for the University of Michigan. My husband and I are empty nesters who eat out quite frequently now. I will be using this journal to create reviews on local restaurants within about a fifteen mile radius of my house. Quick Tips: If you are looking for a discount on dining and like to try new places then I highly recommend visiting the website www.restaurant.com. They offer dining certificates for and if you get on their mailing list, they will send you offers throughout the month that discount the price even further. We have used this site...Read More

Tony's Grill and Restaurant is a family diner located on Washtenaw Avenue in Ypsilanti, MI. It has a very large menu offering a wide variety of items from breakfast through lunch soups/sandwiches and full dinners. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are very large. We were there for dinner and immediately upon entering, there was a large whiteboard offering dinner specials which included fish and chips for $6.29, meatloaf for $5.95, shrimp, and others. The menu offered a wide variety of additional choices including meatloaf, sirloin chopped steak with onions, N.Y. strip steak, chicken tenderloin strips, chicken breast, and others. All dinners were priced reasonably under ten dollars and includ...Read More

Cady's Grill is located in the historic area of Ypsilanti known as Depot Town. In recent years, the area has been developed and has gained interest and popularity as a place for fun dining and good food. Cady's offers a selection of appetizers, soups, salads, entrées, pasta, and gourmet burgers and sandwiches. The menu is fun to explore offering entrées that have unique twists to them. The stuffed meat loaf is "homemade ground beef and Italian sausage meat loaf with green peppers and onions, wrapped around a blend of sharp cheddar, muenster, asiago, and fontina cheese glazed with our sweet and tangy glaze." Equally intriguing is the Traverse City Chicken, "chicken breast sauteed with dried Traverse Ci...Read More

Station 885

Restaurant

Quote:
Station 885 is located in an area of Plymouth, MI, known as "Old Village". This area historically had the train depots. The train tracks are directly next to Station 885, and when I say, directly, I mean they are about 30 feet off of the building. This is part of the fun and allure of going to this restaurant. They have big windows lining the side of the building facing the train tracks so it's great fun to anticipate a train whizzing by the windows. You can feel the ground vibrate it's so close! The restaurant is decorated to carry out the railroad theme. Small model trains travel around tracks on shelves up near the ceiling in both the main dining room and the bar dining area. You ca...Read More

Doc's Sports Retreat

Doc's Sports Retreat is a sports fan's dream. Upon entering the restaurant/sports bar you will be wowed by over 70 tv's surrounding you. Huge flat panels line the walls and every booth has it's own tv complete with access to change the channel and volume. If a sport is showing on tv, you can be sure Doc's is tuned in. When you get to the parking lot, be prepared to circle around once or twice to find a parking spot. Doc's is so popular it is always packed. We've been there on weeknights, weekends, weekday night in the cold February Michigan weather and a rainy night. It doesn't matter when we go, it is always busy. The sure sign of a place with a great atmosphere and great food and D...Read More
