Good service and great rooms, unless you are are on the first floor, or gay.

It's not a gay friendly place, but I was warned before I came to the country. I had trouble with the staff with my one male guest. The others in our group were fine with opposite sex couples.

I did enjoy the complementary breakfast and the beautiful, peaceful spots around the hotel to lounge around. I probably won't go back, but I may visit for the day.

I started my stay in Montevideo at the Hotel Cottage. I felt pampered and spoiled by the staff. The rooms are typical with a bed, work space, closet, and bathroom, but the staff is what sets this place apart. We had such a great time here I was sad to leave, but I did go back to see the new friends I had made at the hotel.
