We live in New England and like the mountains in the summer because they’re less humid. VV is expanding their Berkshire location, building more units. If you are a skier, it is conveniently located across the street from Jiminy Peak ski area. The outdoor pool looks across at the ski front of Jiminy Peak. In the summer, Jiminy Peak has an alpine slide.
VV Berkshires has two pools, one inside and one outside. The outside Jacuzzi was not working when we were here. They have a number of nice gas grills located outside the pool areas with tables to eat at. It was agonizing some days laying out smelling everyone’s meals cooking on the grill! The main building has a relatively large game room with air hockey, Foosball, pool table, and video games. No pinball though. There is an outdoor ping pong table at the outdoor pool. Wireless Internet access is available at the main building in the lobby and they have a few computers available in a room off the exercise room. They had some old readers digest books but I didn’t find a book exchange area like you find at many resorts.
They have a week long activity schedule that runs Monday – Friday. We were asked to a complimentary breakfast a couple times, which we knew to be the sales meeting, and we opted out. We got one follow up call and nothing more. Activities are mostly free of charge but there are fees for some that appear to just cover the cost of materials. Activities included ice cream social, water balloon toss, morning stroll (granola bar and water provided), Bingo, family movie night, Teen meet and greet, cookie coloring ($1), beach volleyball, bocce ball, and more. They also had Texas hold ’em and black jack a couple times.
The grounds were very nicely landscaped and nicely kept. The units were in good shape but were showing some wear. We were in building 10, conveniently located beside the main building, just up from the outdoor pool. The buildings had two or three floors with laundry facilities on each floor; no charge.
