I've been going to Eagle Village for 25 years. Many changes have taken place. The worst change being the Tamiment Hotel was torn down. Eagle Village used the Hotel's facilities, pool, bar, restaurant etc. It took three years for Eagle Village to built its own indoor pool, children's play area and a tennis court. The area is beautiful and the units are well maintained and are spacious. They will add other things as time goes on. It's a little boring if you depend on the Village for all your activities. It pays to go to the Pocmont Hotel down the mountain (five minutes drive) to play bingo, eat and see some entertainment. There is a casino being built that will open in October 2007 about a half hour away in the Poconos. Next door is The Laurel Mountain Arena, where many events take place. They are new and need to get a bigger schedule going. Last week before I got there Linda Ronstadt appeared. It's a good place for people with little kids. Older children will be very bored.
