Wine Tasting

I stayed three nights at the Candlelight Inn, which was my very first bed-and-breakfast experience. Upon arrival I was surprised at how the Inn looked exactly as it does on the website. The Tudor style has a story book quality to it and my girlfriend gave out a little cheer when she saw the place.

Our room, the Majestic, was fabulous. It had a big two-person whirlpool bath, fireplace, and private deck overlooking the gardens and pool area.

The staff were professional, friendly, and when it was breakfast time, we were treated to a great 3-course meal each morning. The banana pancakes were very good!

We felt so comfortable at times, it seemed like we were at our own place lounging in our robes, sipping wine, and listening to the sound of crickets.

The place is as beautiful as it looks. Just delightful.

We ate outside on the patio for lunch. They were having construction done at the time but we made it through without too much noise. The waiter really knew her wine and yes, it fit the meal perfectly.

However for the price, the food was OK. If I am paying $22 for lunch it best makes me smile long after the last bite.

I want to give them a 3.5 but alas cannot here so a 3 it is.

Imagine sitting out on the deck with nothing but green in front of you sipping the bubbly. Seeing the Napa valley fields from the outdoor seating area at Mumm's still has a fond place in my memory. A little like going to a nice restaurant rather than going to a winery, the flutes were filled and glasses clinked.

Make sure you try the Cuvee M in blue. Very nice.

If you like white wine, this is an excellent place to taste. The folks inside were very friendly and the ambiance was California elegant with a casual flavor.

I remember being a lookie loo and checked out the private tasting areas that, even though we weren't doing private tasting that day... the rooms were quite splendid.

Relatively quite tasting room for personalized sipping.
