A July 2007 trip to Barcelona by JASNorthbrook

I was in Barcelona for work and was able to go to a few restaurants on my own.

Our hotel also recommended this Tapas bar, even though it wasn't anywhere near our hotel. We did have to wait both times we went to eat here...but, it was well worth it. It's a good time to try a tasty beverage while you gaze upon the tapas on display. We loved the Calamari, the manchego, the shrimp skewers, the potatos brava, the tortilla, the peppers just to name a few. It was full of locals and tourists alike, which I find to be a good sign. I would go back again in a heartbeat.

Sikkim is an eclectic combination of cuisines. For starters we had Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Italian. Our entrées were excellent: I had the almond, honey SeaBass on a bed of couscous. They have a decent choice of wines as well. The atmosphere is candlelit with tapestries and globally influenced wall hangings. Good for a change of pace from Tapas Bars. It's located in El Born.

We couldn't believe how fresh everything was here. The pasta was so incredible and tasty and plentiful. Whatever each of us ordered, they would bring an extra small plate of it for everyone else to taste! The best was the Tortilini with white truffle sauce. The Gnocchi with red sauce as well as the porcini stuffed ravioli were also incredibly tasty. Our starters were Caprese salad as well as one with Avocado..basic and fresh. Unbelievably inexpensive for what you get here. You get a lot of bang for your buck.
