There is so much to do here that you really need to plan out what it is exactly that you want to do. Times Square is one place that most people are enamored with and almost everyone makes a stop by here. It is a little overrated, but if you are going to do it, do it right, right? There are tons of restaurants, clubs, shops, and lights galore. There is even the Madame Tussauds famous wax museum. Everything is amazing.Quick Tips: Grab yourself a copy of the Village Voice free magazine and see what is being offered when you are in town. There are tons of coupons and cheap things to do more than a Lonely Planet book might suggest.Best Way To Get Around: Every train, and I mean ...Read More

Decorum: There is nothing more entertaining than good food, cheap drinks, and games; Dave & Busters definitely provides all of these and more.Located on the 3rd floor of the AMC Theaters building on 42nd Street between 7th and 8th avenues, this place can easily be passed over, however, it shouldn't be. On the second floor of this building, is the entrance to Applebee's, and if you are hungry, the less work you have to do, the better. But push through those hunger pains and ascend one more flight for the greatest adult arcade around.I had never heard of this place until a friend of mine got a job at the new one opening in Times Square and suggested me to stop by. When I entered, I had n...Read More

Bryant Park

Attraction

Quote:
Located halfway between Times Square and Grand Central Station, Bryant Park (http://www.bryantpark.org/) is a perfectly situated midtown park. Used year round primarily as a lunch room by executives from the surrounding neighborhood, this park is more than just that. The front of the park hosts the prestigous New York City Public Library building and the sides are full of small promenades, a sandwich shop and the famous Byrant Park Grill and Cafe. The large lawn in the center of the park is also the host of the 2007 HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival. Here, a large screen is erected and classic movies are played from 6pm until around 8pm or so (depending on the movie). People are encour...Read More

Attraction | "BB Kings Blues Club & Grille"

Located right in the heart of Times Square, BB Blues Club & Grille is one of Manhattan's most unique bars. The marquee outside, resembling an old movie theater, is constantly updated with its daily show schedule. The first floor is a basic souvenir shop selling any BB King trinket one can think of. The basement is where the magic happens. On any given night, the line outside for the featured show can run all the way to 8th Avenue. Make sure, on big named nights, that you have a ticket already; otherwise there are tickets for sale downstairs in the lobby. If the crowds aren't your thing but good food and live music are, there is a free show every night of the week in Lucille's. Aptly...Read More

While walking along 42nd Street, it's hard not to stop and look at awe at the architecture that is Grand Central Station. Stretching from Vanderbilt Avenue all the way down to Lexington Avenue, this monster of a building is filled with some of New York's coolest sights. On any given day, you can get lost in the crowds of the main hall of the terminal, so keep your wits about you, especially if you are visiting it during the week and catch it at rush hour; it's nuts. But there is so much to do and try that Grand Central alone could keep you occupied most of the day. Now, there is an old superstition that if two people, standing on opposite diagonal corners, and speak in normal voices...Read More

Attraction | "Jerry Garcia Birthday Tribute"

Quote:
There is nothing more interesting than a crowd of patchouli wearing hippies packed into a small venue for a Garcia tribute. BB Kings, a relatively small venue, was packed to the gills last night for the celebration of the lead Dead (no pun intended) guitarist's 66th birthday.Upon arriving, my buddy Matt and I decided to sit at one of the tables that occupy the perimeter of the dance floor. And since there is a $10 minimum per person per set, we figured why not. And just as we sat, the music started and the place broke out into a whirlwind of dancing and swaying. For those of you who have never seen the Zen Tricksters (www.zentricksters.co...Read More
