Small new hotel in Hua Hin

The Balivana is quite small, just four rooms in the main building plus bungalows in the garden. We had a new garden bungalow that was very nice indeed. Our deal included breakfast and also afternoon tea served on our patio. Very cosy and comfortable with our own lounge, as well as a quite large bedroom that had windows out onto the garden. Lots of fruit trees and plenty of shade, nice sala houses to relax on bamboo beds in the gardens. Very quiet and relaxing. Their service was lovely.

Bedrooms are air-conditioned with mini bar and coffee and tea maker, hair dryer, television with DVD player, etc. So well equipped. It reminds me of the Baan Orapin in Chiang Mai which we also like. Similar Thai style relaxation. Not like staying in a hotel, this is for those who want comfortable room or cottage accommodation with personal service at a great price. There was a summer promotion and we paid about $48 a night I think.

This national park is very near to Hua Hin and stretches along the coastline. In addition to the park itself there are the beaches, caves, and temples. Birdwatching in the Wetlands is lovely and very calming and relaxing. You can also go nearby to the Pranburi River area and take a boat ride through the Mangrove Swamps, again, a very calming experience and the National Park and the Pranburi River are certainly must do's when visiting Hua Hin.

Attraction | "Hua Hin Night Markets"

There is the night market in the central part of Hua Hin which is quite interesting, prices are cheap compared to many other places. There is also a night market at the weekend at the Hua Hin Grand Plaza which is full of local atmosphere, well worth visiting and you can then see the Thai Boxing also at the Hua Hin Grand Plaza area.

Hua Hin Market Village Shopping Mall
Hua Hin, Thailand

This is a very large shopping mall with a wide choice of shops including clothing stores, also some arts and craft shops. We found some excellent picture frames there. There are also plenty of restaurants including Western, Thai, and Japanese. There is also a very cheap Food Market area where the dishes are cheap and tasty.
