A July 2007 trip to San Francisco by Kim L

Quote: A day in San Francisco is not enough, but worth the trip.
We were pleasantly surprised to find such a beautiful, quaint hotel. It was easy to get to from the highway and parking wasn't a problem either. There is a parking lot across the street. The building is very well kept. The room (#505) was perfect. The walk-in closet was as big as the bathroom. The bed and furniture were comfy as was the bedding. The towels were super soft and the soaps were very nice. The staff were very helpful and kind. They gave us directions and offered assistance at every turn. Our only concern was the neighborhood. We only walked in the area on Sunday morning to get coffee and it was a little shady, but not really bad. I wouldn't do it alone, however. We only stayed ...Read More

Pacific Coast Highway

Attraction | "Highway 1"

It is one of those areas where not many humans have walked. I've never experienced so much nature in one drive. We saw miles and miles of coastline while in a convertible. This is the only way to fully experience the drive. It is a very long, winding, hot, cold, windy, sunny, foggy ride. The weather changes often and rapidly. The eucalyptus trees are beautiful and fill the air with incredible fragrances as does the wild sage along the road. There are photo ops all along the coast: beaches, cliffs, waves, and wildlife. We spotted many deer, one elk, two cows in the road, lots of turkey vultures, possibly an eagle and a variety of other little critters. We stopped in a few little towns and ate....Read More
