Marathon Trail Head
Brian Head is known for its winter activities but visit in the summer and you will be surprised at the hiking, biking, and events of the summer months. Situated in the Dixie National Forest, spruce, aspen, and fir trees give rise into the bright blue sky. Located on South Hwy. U-143, the area offers ATV tours, scenic mountain biking with chairlift and shuttle service, chairlift rides to 11,307 ft. Brian Head Peak and hiking trails that will take you to vistas of Cedar Breaks National Monument and views into Nevada. Brian Head Peak is the highest point in what’s known as the Grand Staircase and the start for many biking and hiking trails. The extensive trail system ranges in distance from a short easy walk or ride to the 26 mile Marathon Trail. The road into Brian Head is part of a Scenic Byway Loop which will take you through Cedar Canyon and Cedar City, Cedar Breaks, Brian Head, and through Parowan Canyon.

Go to enjoy the outdoors and schedule your summer trip to coincide around one of the many events in Brian Head. The summer of 2007 hosts a Wildflower Festival which includes guided photographic walks. The wildflowers are spectacular on the mountain this time of year. There is also an Art & Craft Festival scheduled along with Mountain Bike Races and a Mountain Music Jam Concert.

Hiking and biking in the area can take you to beautiful scenery off the beaten path. Make sure that you are prepared for whatever adventure you chose. Bring a good supply of water, good hiking shoes, cell phone, maps, compass, sunscreen and hat...and always let someone know where you are traveling to and when they should expect you back.

Rooms are more like villas and range from Junior Villas which come with two queen beds and jetted tub to the Grand Two Bedroom Villas that offer a full kitchen and living room with a queen size sleeper sofa. Master bedroom has a king size bed also with a jetted tub. All villas have a fireplace and TV. Whether it is a romantic weekend or a family get away, these villas are clean and convenient to all the attractions in Brian Head.
