Hotel | "Quality Inn Fort Worth"

June 15 - 17, 2007

Traveling from Denver, my sister who lives near this Fort Worth hotel, suggested that we stay here for our long week end as it had suites for a regular price.

We had never stayed in a Quality Inn so we had no idea what to expect, although my sister said that it was good for the family. We were four of us traveling to Fort Worth for a TCU event and wanted to take the children to the Stockyards and do the steam train trip: our little boy is at the age of being fascinated by trains.

It all worked out well. The room was a suite and we fit in easily. There was no kitchenette but the full hot breakfast took care of that for all of us.

The price we thought was very reasonable for the size of suite, certainly, when we take into account the breakfast. The stockyards were fun for us all.

TCU was easy to get to from I 30 and we even made it to a farmer's market that was nearby. We need to check e-mail when on these trips and the Internet connection was easy and worked, was free of course. The staff were pleasant.

All-in all we had a good experience. The access from the Quality Inn is easy to the two main Fort Worth bisecting highways, easy to get to TCU (Texas Christian University - for The Texas Piano Competition ), the stockyards and the train excursion. Our kids (and we, too, I'm bound to say) had a fine adventure in the stockyards with the cattle and with the train.

The Piano Competition at TCU was the cue for our stay and we all went from youngest, Josh, to oldest (me). We got in three exceptional concerts. A great experience in art. That is where we are leading our children , when not on trains. Two young artist competitions and one concert by Paul Badura-Skoda - great experience. Two concerts free and Paul Badura Skoda was only $20 each (for my husband and me) and $10 each for the children.

The hotel's breakfast kept us going through Fort Worth until a late lunch.

Good weekend from all sides.

Attraction

June 15-17 Piano Texas - International Academy and Festival. The master class and Piano Competition at Texas Christian University - TCU.

This is a treat - costs hardly anything - with master classes, competitions, and concerts. We came to it with two young children - stayed nearby at The Quality Inn Fort Worth and had a really easy journey back and forth to the the concert venues nearby at TCU.

The level of work at the Festival and Competition is exceptional. The children were engaged - because they are seeing their peers engaged.
