The Hotel Tannerhof is a Bed and Breakfast located next to the venerable Hotel Zermatterhof and the Zermatt Museum. I paid 60 Swiss Francs for a single room with shower and toilet. The hotel has wireless LAN and I connected to the internet with my computer from my hotel room. They don't have an elevator, but the breakfast is included in your room price and is good. Zermatt has endless hiking and sightseeing opportunities. Two of the best come from taking the gondola up to Kleine Matterhorn, where you can walk out on the glacier and ridge line, and taking the Gornergrat train up to the peak of the Gornergrat. There are multiple places where the train stops and you can get off to hike.
