The Complete Guide for Salamanca Nightlife

A June 2007 trip to Salamanca by Radulf The K-Night

Quote: This contains the famous and the infamous of night places for the great city of Salamanca, Spain.

Camelot

Attraction

Quote:
In the past years this has been the place to go for the summer, but be aware this year because it has become a hide out for the underage drunk. The drinks have gone up (7 euros) and the quality of the alcohol is questionable. The gorillas at the entrance are getting grouchy and if you want to dance on the speakers the local teens will fight you for them (even push you off). Also, the bordadores area has become insecure.

Great atmosphere and good place to get your dancing shoes going. Most of the Erasmus students use this as a hang out so it is a good place to meet girls from all over Europe. They have good choices of beer and they serve good drinks. Defiantly a good place to visit or make your base of operations.

Hacienda

This is a cool place, but the quality of their alcohol is what in Spain is called garrafa. The Calle Bordadores has gone down, is unsafe, and the worst place to hang out in Salamanca, same warning applies to all the clubs in this area: Gatsby's, Camelot, and the rest that all are alike.

Country

Attraction

It's a very strange yet fun place. it is a student hideout but mostly with local students. They have big mixed drinks. Try the traditional "mistela" which is sweet wine and they give you the comunion waffer to go with it, very sacreligous, very liberating as it is the atmosphere. Great place to meet the real Salamanca students (not just the one-month cruzaders). The prices for drinks are cheap and the music is great. Beware of the step entrnace going down. So the fun begins right from the start.

Ambigu

Attraction

This is a real after-hour. It is a little hidden so pay attention! It is in one of the passages of main square on the left corner looking at the clock. It is packed from 6 to 10am. The drinks are expensive as in any after-hour and there is a cover charge. For those nights when you will not surrender by going home this is your place.
