Country Music Awards`Las Vegas

The MGM hotel is always friendly and hospitable. They almost always honor your requests.We have always asked for a low floor (Mom is afraid of heights) and usually get the second or third floor. Clean and comfortable but not a lot of extras. Being on lower floors also doesn't give much of a view, usually a wall or air conditioner. It has easy access to anything you would want to get to. I love the monorail, it takes you directly to Harrahs and Toby Keiths bar and grill.

The annual Country Music awards in Las Vegas has gotten so much better now that they have moved it to the MGM (instead of Mandalay Bay). There are more activities planned and seems more organized. On Sunday (5/13) they have the free concerts planned at Freemont street with Gretchen Wilson this year. The only downside is they need more water vendors and less booze vendors. I went with my mom again this year and she loves Toby Keith. We have to visit his restaurant at least twice when we go, she's always hoping to see if he pops in (he did we hear...but she was at the 'new artists' preview show Monday night). The awards show itself is always spectacular...amazing who they find as presenters. I myself enjoyed seeing Gary Dourdan from CSI. I would recommend a trip to Vegas in May for the awards next year, never know who you might run into in the lobby!
