Morgantown weekend

An April 2007 trip to Morgantown by mcgervey

Lakeview was horrible.

Everything here takes a backseat to golf, and that is the biggest problem with the hotel. Even with recent upgrades, Lakeview rooms pale to most hotels around Morgantown.

I keep finding myself thinking of the old saying "If you put lipstick on a pig... "

You still can't get a wireless internet signal in most of the hotel, or any other internet in the rooms. They will offer you a wireless bridge for your room. Don't bother, unless you’re in one of the “lucky rooms,” it won’t help either.

The pool area is badly in need of some attention. It's hard to say if the pool will actually be heated on the day you try to use it and the spa/hot tub located in the hotel is about as bad as it gets in any hotel.

There were also no towels available in the pool area either day, despite signs in the room advising not to take room towels to the pool, as they are provided at the pool. There were none, despite the fact that there wasn't a soul in the pool for quite some time before we arrived, and during the half an hour we were there, no one came to check the pool and/or restock.

Overall, Lakeview exhibits quite a poor level of service and maintenance for what is billed as a destination and resort property.

Save yourself some money and enjoy yourself much more. Drive to the Sabraton exit and check out the new Spring Hill Suites, it is light years ahead of the Lakeviews rooms, and the pool and hot tub won't give you the heeby-jeebies, or something even less pleasant.
