We actually booked a one bedroom Landmark unit though Bluegreen and traded it for a two bedroom in the following year through RCI. We had trouble getting reasonable flight prices so flew into Tallahassee instead of Panama City. It was a long drive in the dark, but not too difficult.
The location is great, right on the beach and out of the chaos of the main strip, yet you are still close enough to get anywhere you want to go.
The resort is about 1/2 mile from a Winn-Dixie grocery store. There is also a WalMart and Target in town, but further away. Parking in front of the resort is limited and we parked in the lot across the street all week. Check-in was quick but they didn't have any more beach towels left when we checked in.
The access to all the units is outside and all have balconies overlooking the beach. Our two bedroom had a washer/dryer in the kitchen and two spacious bedrooms. We just had our teenage daughter with us so we had plenty of room for the three of us. There is a master bath with a shower and the extra bath was only accessed from the second bedroom. This bathroom had a tub and shower, both had hair dryers. The master bath had a door separating the shower from the sink and a separate mirror set up like a dressing table.
The master bedroom had a queen bed and the extra bathroom had two queen beds plus there was a sleeper sofa. It really could sleep eight but they have it listed as sleeping six. Dishes and towels were exactly for 6 so we had to wash often and there is no towel service since you have the washer/dryer, butthey didn't supply any detergent.
April is still iffy weather for the Panhandle but we enjoyed high seventies most of the time. The sun was warm but the breezes were still quite strong some days and made it cooler.
We would stay here again. There was a real party-type resort next door with a lazy river, seven pools, etc., but it appeared to be a party resort. People were coming and going all the time with drinks in their hands. It was much more laid back at the Landmark.
Quick Tips:
They charge for extra items so you may want to bring some items with you.
.75¢ per roll for toilet tissue or paper towels
.50¢ per box of Kleenex (one per bathroom provided free)
.75¢ for Palmolive—you had a full one so shouldn't need more.
.25¢ per trash bag, there are trash chutes so we used grocery bags and, with the large bags provided, never had to buy any.
.25¢ per bar of soap. We always have an extra shower bar from a previous hotel or resort staY
.25¢ per packet of dishwasher detergent. I washed small loads by hand so had plenty to do a load about every other day in the dishwasher.
.75¢ per package of laundry detergent. I bought a container at the grocery store after figuring how many loads I would do. It was on sale for .50.Best Way To Get Around:
You need a car to get around. I didn't notice much public transportation in this area.
