Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Car rental for us. There are shuttles available, but we preferred more flexibility and it is a VERY BIG island!

Hotel | "Hilton GVC at Waikoloa Beach Resort"

This was our first trip to Hawaii. Being Hilton Grand Vacation owners, we preferred to stay in one of these resorts. We chose the Big Island because we wanted a quieter vacation than I expected to find in Oahu.

We previously stayed at the HGVC’s in Orlando – twice at Sea World and once at International Drive. In comparision, the onsite facilities at Kohala were disappointing. However, the options available a short drive away at the Hilton Village at Waikoloa Beach Resort were wonderful. The combination worked well and kept the noise away from the condo units. The problem was the lack of an onsite restaurant or even store to buy basic provisions.

The villas were very, very nice. A real treat.

Attraction | "General beach walks"

There is a beach for everyone. Just drive down the road if the one you visit isn't your type. There is sand and lava...rocky or grass. Waves and easy tides.

Busy family and activity filled or lazy and secluded.
