Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos
We stayed in a one-bedroom timeshare. The unit was nicely furnished and spacious. A balcony overlooked the ocean and was a great spot to relax and read. The timeshare portion of the resort is at the far east end of the facility and required a significant walk to the beautiful pools (quite a circuitous route at that). We got used to packing everything we would need and trekking over for several hours. The pool area is large and beautiful. The staff were very pleasant and whatever we needed was quickly brought. The restaurants were rather expensive and there are few alternatives, but with care in ordering, we were able to enjoy nice meals in several places.
We rented a car one day to see downtown Cabo and went to a highly recommended restaurant, La Fonda. Another trip into town was to attend a timeshare pitch which opened new doors and produced some bonuses, the best of which was a dinner cruise to the Arch that was delightful.
Our car trip brought one negative experience when we were trapped in an intersection by traffic as the light changed. A local "officer" saw his opportunity and pulled us over for "running" the light. Hard to do since we weren’t even moving, but...oh well. After a short struggle with his little English and our less Spanish, $40 wrapped in a slip of paper made the "problem" go away. Realities of the real world.
Cabo in October is apparently a good time to go if you don't like crowds. As you can see in the photos, there just weren't many folks around.
