I booked in Ashlee House directly with their website, very useful by the way! When I arrived, I instantly felt welcomed, the staff were very nice and friendly, the place looked really comfortable and with some interesting fashion furniture.
The rooms are fine, I stayed in one of the female dorms, very nice, they provide all the bed stuff, pillow, and duvet cover.
There is a common room, where they showed some movies every night, and then you have the chance to meet a lot of people. One good thing is that the hostel is not too big, so you can easily meet people, and is not too small, so you can easily have your own personal space.
The kitchen is lovely, the breakfast guys are really nice and funny, breakfast is provided by the hostel, and then there is a self catering kitchen very well equipped so you can prepare your own meals, this saves you a lot of money at the end.
At the reception the staff are really helpful showing you the best and economic ways for seeing this city! They give you really good advice, help you with fast track tickets for most of the top attractions. The location is great! Kings Cross is a very well connected station! From Heathrow I just took the Tube directly and it took me 45 minutes only! No changes, there is also direct trains from Luton and Gatwick Airports. A lot of tube lines and buses are in this station. And the area is at walking distances of many attractions such as the British Museum, the British Library, St. Paul's Cathedral, Madame Tussuad's, Camden Town, and then just 10 minutes by bus or underground from Piccadilly circus and Trafalgar Square!
All I wanted was a really good budget accommodation, and I certainly found it! Now every time I go to London I book in Ashlee House!
