Puerto Vallarta

An August 2007 trip to Puerto Vallarta by crystalpsmith

Hotel and fun stuff in Puerto Vallarta.

This all inclusive, adults only hotel was an experience. The staff were amazing. Check in is not until 3. We packed our bathing suits and beach gear in a separate bag and used the courtesy room to change. We were able to sit by the pool until check in. The food was good. You have several options, room service, pool side restaurant, or a more formal area for dinner.

The rooms were clean and nice. The bathrooms were huge. All of the rooms face the pool or water. The pool is smaller than we expected. Get there early to reserve a seat. Also, there is not much shade, so the seats in the shade are really hard to get. Don't sit too close to the bar, there was a bee problem while we were there.

The only problem was not the hotel's fault. The beaches are public and you cannot sit out there without being bombarded with people selling stuff.

Restaurant

This place was amazing. It was recommended by friends who visit Puerto Vallarta often.

While my husband and I love true authentic Mexican food, at some point in the trip, I want a burger! This is where you should go. Enjoy views of the water. I have a club sandwich and my husband had nachos. We went on Sunday which is 2 for 1 drink day. Piña coladas were great.

The service was amazing. The entire place is decorated like a pub in Chicago. Very strange since you are in Mexico. This was a great low key, less expensive alternative to Hooter's or Hard Rock!

Pepe'sBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

Again, this place was amazing!

Pepe's was recommended by a person on the plane. We took a cab from our hotel. I was a little scared driving through the neighborhood.

The staff were great. We ordered margaritas that came in the biggest glass I have ever seen! I wouldn't recommend having more than two.

I ordered fajitas and my husband ordered enchiladas. Both were great. You can absolutely split the fajitas.

Even though we were in an all inclusive, we still went out. This was by far the best meal we had. Very reasonably priced. A fun atmosphere.
