Winter Music Conference is the event of the year for the Electronica Music Industry

The Winter Music Conference (WMC) is the week long party in Miami every year in March. During the week long conference top international DJs congregate in Miami spinning music at the hottest clubs all week long.

An actual conference takes place at the convention center for the dance music industry along with an award show for the industry during the week. However, you don't necessary have to attend the conference to enjoy what the WMC has to offer.

Just think of it as a week of parties with gorgeous people, friendly vibe, and beautiful weather. Everybody out at the WMC is there to have a good time and you'll be able to enjoy tons of parties with great music.

Most people fly out to Miami and never attend the conference itself. I did that for 2 years. There is plenty to do in the day besides partying or attending the conference. You are right at the beach, so there are many beach related activities, along with maybe a visit to little Cuba.

Quick Tips:

Lots of nightclubs offer pre-sale tickets for multiple night visits. It is usually a better deal than paying at the door. Cover is usually - per night. However, with the pre-sale tickets you get to save a few bucks and usually skip the line. Just make sure the line-up at the club is good for multiple nights.

Hot clubs like B.E.D are hard to get into if you don't get on a list or know someone in the industry.

The Ultra Dance Festival is an all day event. VIP tickets usually offer unlimited drinks to the holder. It may be a good idea for one friend in your party to get a VIP ticket and rack up drinks for everyone else.

Drinks at most of the clubs are and up for all mixed drinks. So bring plenty of cash!

The Roney Beach Palace is an all suite hotel right on the beach with direct beach access, and an infinity pool.

The Delaney is where celebrities stay when they're in town.

Most of the hotels charge an additional "resort" fee of - per day. The perks of the fee are towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas down at the beach for you to use.

Don't forget your earplugs.

Best Way To Get Around:

South beach Miami is easy to get around. There are buses and car rental is available as well. Walking around town and catching taxis is your best bet.

Nikki Beach Club

Activity

Ranks as my favorite place in South Beach Miami. You could spend the whole day at the place. We arrived for lunch and stayed until after dark. The layout is a cool summer island tropical hideaway. The front doesn’t look that impressive but wait until you get inside. As you walk through the bar and restaurant you reach the back where the "club" is, which is literally on the beach.

Most of the dining tables are outside, under wispy canopies with fluffy pillows on the chairs and benches. The food was not spectacular or disgusting, just your average fare with average prices. But the atmosphere is relaxed and laid back.

There is usually a DJ playing the entire time at the Nikki Beach during the entire week of the Winter Music Conference. So after lunch head towards the lounge area to enjoy the music. The lounge area is an assortment of beds and low lying couches spread out on the beach. There are teepees set up too for a bit of privacy. Either sit back and people watch, or join the crowd on the dance floor.
