Quote: For a nice place to take the family and relax, Salado, Texas should be at the top of everyone's list. It is located 45 miles north of Austin, and 45 miles south of Waco. I recommend visiting this part of Texas in the spring time (April) while all the wildflowers are in bloom. It makes for a spectacular site to see.

The hotel is very nice. You can either have your room facing the pool or the hot tub. Each room either has a king bed or two double beds. It includes a balcony/patio with chairs. There are two floors available only. The hotel has a coffee shop for breakfast and lunch and a separate restaurant for dinner. Other activities include shuffle board, kid''s playground, swimming pool, hot tub, and bicycle renting. Close by are tennis courts and golf course. Also a creek runs next to the hotel that allows people to raft down. The Stagecoach Inn's 82-room luxury motor hotel, and its recreational facilities, are next door to the original inn. The food is wonderful. The waitress lists the different types of food. Each entree comes with an appetizer, salad, main course (with 2 sides), dessert, and a drink (non-alcoholic). The restaurant does not serve alcohol. The two sides change from night to night. The food includes stuffed shrimp, prime rib, chicken fried steak, and more. The price you pay is well worth the food you receive.

Putter Golf

Attraction

This is a miniture golf course that people can go to in the evening after spending all day resting, swimming, biking, etc.

It is located about 15 minutes from Salado north on Interstate 35. It is an older miniture golf course but it is fun for the entire family.

I recommend coming here one night after dinner.

Their hours are Mon-Sat 10-5 Sun 1-5.

They offer various artists including Windburg prints. They also sale pieces for decoration or gifts around the house. Some of the pieces they sell are Fenton Glass.

It is a place for adults, as children's hands might break the pieces. However, in this town, they will be safe.

This is just one of many stores found in town. You can park in one location and easily walk to all of them. It will take part of a morning and a full afternoon to see them all.
