Overview

Quote:
Las Vegas offers endless entertainment options, from major stage shows, sporting events, casino gaming, golfing, shopping and gourmet dining. Quick Tips: Try and get out of the city for the day. Visit Hoover Dam or Red Rock Canyon, or if you have a bit more time - The Grand Canyon Best Way To Get Around: For the airport there are numerous taxi, shuttle and limosine companies. For travelling around Las Vegas, the city bus is very efficient, but they do get very crowded. There is also a trolley the travels between Mandalay Bay at the south end of the strip up to the Riviera Hotel, but again it can get very crowded. Taxi's are plentiful, but be prepared for a long wait especi...Read More

MGM Grand

Lower rates are generally available Sunday to Thursday. The MGM Grand is a huge hotel and casino. Before I ever stayed here I always disliked it because it was so large and crowded, and hard to navigate once inside. I finally got a good rate and decided to stay. Once I stayed there it didn''t seem as big, finding shortcuts around the hotel and quiet little slots areas. I very suprised by everything the MGM has to offer. It started at check-in. The hotel has a check-in desk at the airport right beside the baggage claim. We were all checked in and had our room keys while we were waiting for our luggage. Once you see the line ups at the hotel you will really appreciate this service. ...Read More

Imperial Palace Las Vegas

Quote:
The Imperial Palace is located on the centre of the stip between the Flamingo Hilton and Harrahs, and across from Caesers Palace. The Imperial Palace is an older hotel, with various towers being added over time. This is eveident when you try to find your room. You get off of the elevator and could go around in circles if you take a wrong turn. It was like a maze. The rooms are of average size and brightly decorated. There is a small balcony on most of the tower rooms. (Small that you could stand on, but no furniture would fit). There are no frills in these standard rooms. Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool and sun deck, health club, and a car collection. Discount c...Read More

The Holiday Inn Boardwalk is located at the south end of the strip between Monte Carlo and Bellagio. We checked in late on a Sunday afternoon and it was a very slow process. There are two types of rooms a motel section, with two buildings and the tower rooms. I have stayed in the tower room. The rooms are above average in size with 2 double beds or a king size bed. There is a small table and two chairs, tv, but not other extra frills. (I believe they have recently added coffee makers, hair dryers, iron and ironing boards). The bathroom was the smallest I have seen in any hotel room, you almost have to step into the bathtub to get the door closed. Hopefully that was just in our room and is not the ...Read More

The Tropicana is located at the south end of the strip across from New York-New York, Excalibur and the MGM Grand. There are three sections to the hotel, the Island Tower, Paradise Tower and the Garden Wing. I have stayed the the Paradise Tower a number of times. The Paradise Tower is the tower located closest to the casino. Each room is equipped with a refrigerator, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer. Views face the north or south to the Las Vegas Strip. The rooms have one king bed or two queen beds. Be sure to request a room away from the elevators and ice machine. We had a room once next to the elevators and you could hear the elevator chains clanging all night. There a...Read More

The Palace Station is located about 1 mile behind the Circus Circus, and the hotel does provide shuttle service to the strip. The Palace Station is a wonderful hotel and casiso. The hotel section has its own entrance so you can check in and get to the elevators and up to your room without having to drag your luggage through the casino. There are two types of rooms, the garden courtyard and a tower. I stayed in a tower room. The rooms and bathrooms were both spacious, either two double beds or one king size bed. In room coffee maker. We did peek in the courtyard rooms and they were slightly smaller with a shower only. There is a full casino, and 5 restrurants, a steakhouse, a...Read More

The Monte Carlo is located at the south end of the Las Vegas strip located next to New York New York hotel and connected by monorail to Bellagio. Taxis and shuttles drop off at the back entrance of the hotel, which is where check-in is located. It is nice not to have drag your bags through the casino to get to check-in and room elevators. The rooms were an average size, with two queen beds and sitting area with desk. All rooms have an iron and ironing board as well as a high dryer. The soaps, shampoo and lotions were superior to most hotels. Rooms are decorated in dark, rich colors and were very clean. The pool area was fabulous with a large sun deck (with both shady and sunn...Read More
