Grand Crown

Hotel

The room was great and very nice. We had a two-bedroom unit, but each unit had its own kitchen, washer and dryer, and a Jacuzzi tub in each bedroom, as well as two full bathrooms per unit. The decor was fresh and pretty. Both bedrooms had balconies with a view of beautiful Thousand Hills Golf Course. The property has an indoor pool and hot tub as well as outdoor pools and a tennis court on the roof of the pool building. The resort drive is right off the yellow route which gives you access to all of the attractions in the area, most of them without using Hwy. 76 or coming out on 76 close to where you're going. The resort offered discount tickets to attend the 90 minute sales presentation (was a full 90 minutes plus)as many timeshares in Branson do. The salesman was pleasant and seemed to know his stuff. The second wave salesperson (a lady with an attitude) was the hard sale in this good cop bad cop situation. But we stood firm and after 15 minutes with her we were out of there.

We had the family spaghetti and meatballs meal. It was great. The meal would have served four people easy, but we were staying in a condo, so leftovers were easy to heat up and came in handy for a quick lunch. Luigi's has an extensive menu (a takeout menu is available on the exterior door of the Welk Resort location)all of which is available for delivery. They offer many Italian specialty pastas sandwiches and pizzas. We will definitely order from Luigi's next time we are in Branson.

Good real wood smoked meats with fresh side items. Friendly services and nice atmosphere very homey. We will definitely eat here again on a return visit.

Rib Crib Barbecue

Restaurant

We love barbecue and we will definitely eat at here again. They have several locations in our home region and would try other locations. Good food and friendly service. The pulled pork was delicious with potato salad. If you like ribs but don't want to make meal you can "add a rib" to any meal for a small price. My husband had the pick two meats with two sides, Briscut, ribs, fried okra and onion rings.

We eat at our local location often, but are sometimes leary of other cities. I was very pleased with the service that we received. All of our meal was delicious and the appetizer and salads were timed perfectly to be finished before our meals arrived. The food salad was cold, the food was hot, and the cheddar bay biscuits as always were superb.

This is always a great show. The last time we were there was five years ago, so the show was new to us and very entertaining. We did a timeshare tour and got our tickets for 10 dollars each ($75 savings). Tickets are usually around 45 dollars each plus tax, it is worth the full price. The meal is hands on (no silverware) but delicious, and they bring you a warm cloth to clean up after the meal.

Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede & Dinner Show

This was a superb show. It was a very entertaining story and wonderful vocals from the entire cast, as well as some great Platters songs. My husband and I are 33 and 35, and we knew almost every song. The show is taped nightly and you can purchase a copy in the lobby after the show, they pan the audience with the camera throughout the show and the camera view is projected onto big screens on either side of the stage. The cast seemed fresh and they portrayed their parts as if they were still excited to be doing the materials.

'Lost in the Fifties' with the Platters

This was one of several trips to Branson for me. Silver Dollar City is always a stop on our trips here. If you plan to visit the park two or more days the season pass is the way to go with discounts inside the park as well as out.

We took the free tour and it was very interesting. You get to taste the equivalent of one glass of wine if you try all of the offerings. My husband and I are not big wine drinkers but still found the tour interesting and a nice relaxed atmosphere to enjoy. Alternate drinks are available for children and persons who do not want to try the wine. The winery has a large gift shop attached with a large selection of their wines as well as other wine related gifts (wine glasses, cork screws, bottle chillers and much more) and of course T-shirts.

This was a nice little side trip that was free, except for the 25 cents to feed the fish. I took several photos. The exhibits inside were as fascinating as the tanks outside and offered a very nice educational opportunity.

this is the first aquarium you see the otter environment is much bigger than it appears. The animals seem to enjoy their area and were quite playful while we watched.
The Wonders of Wildlife is an exhibit sponsored by the Bass Pro Shops. This is a great place to cool off, the exhibits are all inside and it is a very nice temperature. We enjoy animals of all kinds and the shark tank especially was interesting. We purchased the combination ticket for both the Wonders of Wildlife and the Taxidermy museum, with which you get a free years subscription to Field & Stream. After the exhibits we spent quite awhile just browsing and enjoying the outdoor equipment as well as the extensive line of boats.
