Of all the spots in Costa Rica, this hotel was a very special place for me and my wife. There's a strong sense of localism in this incredible town high up in the mountains a couple thousand feet above sea level. The weather was cool at night, and the rain storms were unreal.Hotel Cafetal threw a party for the opening of its new restaurant on the grounds. There was standing room only and everyone from the town was there. Amidst the amazing views, the hotel is built on a very large coffee plantation.
