Went to Deanes Deli on Thursday, February 1, after hearing Mr. Deane on Radio Ulster. We normally go to James St. South, Cayenne, Shu, Vagos, Beatrice Kennedy, etc., so are aware of the standards out there. We had the worst meal we've ever had. The Thai green cuury was completely tasteless with minimal chicken and maximum semi-cooked, non-Thai vegetables. The replacement fish pie, whilst had some tasty fish, had a totally bland non-seasoned sauce the consistency of water. My partner's moules mariniere was also tasteless, non-seasoned with mussels smaller than cockles. The replacement was the same with some tarragon thrown on top. We were not charged for one of the meals and wrote an email to Deanes expressing our disappointment but they did not bother to reply. We will not go back.
