An August 2006 trip

Hotel | "Super 8 San Antonio Alamo Airport Area"
The price was great, maybe too great. Be very careful when you decide to go the cheap way on motels/hotels. I know that we were not going back to the Embassy Suites because we didn't have the money this year. I regret going to this hotel, we had such a bad experience. We did have enough money to splurge on the suite, which seemed very nice once we got to the motel. It was very large and had a lot of space to put our clothing. The room was very warm, but it was the middle of summer in Texas, so it was going to be hot until we turned on the A/C. Or at least that is what we thought. We turned on the A/C and it started to make this awful, high-pitched squeaking sound. My thought was, just let it run for a little bit and it will work itself out. An hour later when we had to go to bed, it was still making all that noise. We turned the A/C off because at the time, our room was quite cool. Two hours after we woke up to a sweat-soaked bed (the room had reached 95 degrees), we had to call down to the front desk to see if they could fix it. The lady said we would have to go to another room until they could get it fixed. No problem, things happen, at least they said it would get fixed! (But forgot to tell us that it wouldn't be until after we left the state.)
So we re-packed all of our things and moved to a room down the hall. It was the scariest room ever. I don't think they had cleaned it before we got there. The bathroom light took over an hour each time you flipped the switch on to actually turn on. Our bathroom soap was unwrapped and already used. The bathtub had not been cleaned. Our bed had a comforter on it, but no sheets. And there were very large stains on the carpet and on the walls. I called down to the front desk to see if they had another room for us, and they said no, that was the very last one and that's what we would have to deal with. I have never been so appalled in my life. We asked every day when our hotel room would get fixed, but it never did. They wouldn't even give us any sort of discount or apology for what happend to us. DO NOT GO TO THIS MOTEL!! The service and quality are terrible.

Attraction | "SeaWorld"
I love going to SeaWorld. If I could live at this place, I would. This SeaWorld is really nice because it is like three parks in one. It has all the animal attractions like a zoo, a lot of roller coasters like an amusment park, and then a water park all under one name: SEAWORLD!!! We did the same thing that we did in San Diego: we bought a season pass and used it everyday. The first day we went to SeaWorld, we participated in the Beluga interaction. We put on wetsuits and jumped into the frigid water of their pool (which actully felt really nice because it was 100 degrees that day). It was amazing, the beluga whales are too cute and really fun to play with. I didn't want to get out of the water. We walked around SeaWorld the whole day and saw every show possible.
The next day we did just about the same thing; I had to see their new show "Believe" at least three times. Shamu is my absolute favorite. Later that evening, we actually had dinner with Shamu. We got to sit next to a table right by Shamu's tank while we feasted on some delicious food prepared by the chef. We also got to take some amazing pictures of Shamu and his friends while we ate.
The day after that, we came back to the park to go play in their huge wave pool and large water slides they have inside the water park. We also grabbed a tube and floated down the lazy river for quite some time.
The best way to prepare for SeaWorld is to do everything over the Internet and have a print out that they can scan at the door. It's very easy and quick. I recommend this place to everyone!!
