My family and I used to stay here when it was known as The Palms and it was really nice, but then it changed for the worse to Mystic Dunes Resort. Our room wasn't clean and we found multiple water bugs throughout the kitchen and bedrooms. The floors were filthy along with the pools. The staff were rude and didn't listen to our request of a DVD player. Our room was really far from the main pool and activities, but the promised shuttle was non existent. There was constant trash in the hallways that stayed there throughout our seven days. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Restaurant | "Angel's Lobster and Seafood Buffet"

I wouldn't recommend this buffet. There are several other locations along International Drive and throughout Kissimmee, but don't be fooled by the great early bird special for $27. The lobsters were small and tasteless, the shrimp were tiny and over cooked. Besides the seafood, there was not much to choose from. It says all-you-can-eat, but I didn't want to eat more.

Restaurant | "Margaritaville"

I loved eating at this restaurant in Universal Studios City Walk. My family and I made reservations and were seated immediately. At night they usually have a free live band playing while you are eating. The food was good ranging from jerk chicken to jambalaya and even vegetarian options, there's so much variety with great prices!

Universal Studios
When you choose to go to Universal, don't expect the large Disney like theme park with tons of rides. This park focuses on rides that involve movies such as Men in Black, Alien Attack, or Jaws. With less than twenty rides you'll probably finish the park in one day but the amount of detail in every ride makes you feel that you are actually riding in the movies. (Keep also in mind since it is smaller than Disney, the lines are much longer for the rides, but are still worth it!)

Jurassic park
This park seemed a lot bigger than the Universal Studios Park. Every ride is so unique and fits perfectly within each themed island. My favorite island was the Super Hero island which included the Hulk roller coaster and the Spiderman ride which I highly recommend.

Islands of Adventure
Orlando Orlando, Florida

City Walk offers great shopping and dining between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. There's a great movie theater that offers dinner and a movie for $20 per person which is really great for anyone on a budget. My family and I took advantage of this great deal that even included special reserved seating with several restaurants to choose from. I recommend Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, which featured Caribbean-style food and live entertainment.
