Lac Viet is actually owned by a friend of my wife. I've seen his business grow by leaps and bounds, yet he still maintains a friendly, local atmosphere. I think it's the best Vietnamese food in town, and at less than $5 for any meal, it's a must-visit if you're ever in Columbus. I've seen the owner "spot" visitors for their meal if they don't have enough cash, and it's fun to sit and eat on the stools, and watch all the people come and go.

The beef pho is my favorite, and is great on a cold day. The summer rolls, or goi cuon are good anytime as a snack, or order a couple as a meal. The beef with crushed rice or noodles is great, and he'll even make a combo of beef and chicken if you ask. All the food is homemade and very authentic.

North Market is open 7 days a week, but only select vendors are open on Mondays, and Lac Viet is not one of them. Open all other days of the week- parking around the streets at North Market. Not much to look at, but your tummy will thank you!
