I went to Myrtle Beach in July with the family. It was a lot of fun, and I'm not the type to just sit on the beach, so I went out and explored. This is the stuff I found.

Fiesta del Burro Loco

We dined here on our first night, and it was great. It had a wonderful atmosphere; the inside looked almost like a shack with a tin roof, and it had interesting things bolted to the wall as well.

It was very busy, so I recommend calling in advance. There were 10 of us eating, but we did call-ahead seating, so our wait time was only 20 to 30 minutes.

The food was reasonable for being in a tourist town. I paid $30 for two to eat, and that includes everything from the appetizers to the tip. The food was also very good, and I'm not a big fan of Mexican food.

There was a birthday party there and the staff sang a version of the birthday song and the birthday person rode around on a toy.

The Burro Loco is partners with the Carolina Roadhouse, so when you dine with one you get a coupon for the other.

Everyone should experince the Burro Loco.

Damon's Grill

Restaurant

Damon's Grill

This night was interesting, not because of the restaurant, but because of our party. There were 10 of us and we really couldn't decide where to go, so Damon's is just where we ended up.

It was very nice, and the people were great. The staff was very accomodating even though we couldn't make up our minds about anything. The wait was maybe 10 minutes, but we went a little later than normal "dinner time."

The food was good. I had a French dip sandwich, and it was a little dry. They tried to fix it, but I'm pretty picky and it still wasn't the best, although the au jus helped. Everything else was cooked perfectly.

As for the restaurant itself, it was nice; very clean and well put together. There were big glass windows that looked out over the man-made lake, which was cool.

Damon's is located by an outdoor mall, so after dinner we did a little shopping.

Farmer's Daughter

Restaurant

Farmer's Daughter

The people were nice. The restaurant was clean. Those are about the only things I liked about this restaurant. Four of us went at about 6pm (prime dinner time)and the place was pretty empty. That should have tipped us off, but it didn't, and besides, we wanted country cooking, so we went.

It was a buffet full of anything country you could imagine. But the food wasn't very good; it was bland and dry. It cost me $25 for myself. I was not very happy with the place.

Medieval Times

It's away from all the other Myrtle Beach tourist stuff, so make sure you get good directions. And you have to buy tickets in advance.

There are two packages; I chose the cheaper one and my experience was great. The more expensive one gave you a couple extra things, but was not really worth the extra money as far as I'm concerned.

This was the first time I had seen this show and it was fun. They got the crowed involved and we cheered for our knight (who lost). It was very busy though, and not for people who are claustrophobic, because you're packed in there.

The food was good, but you have to eat with your hands...no silverware. Afterwards, the actors come out for pictures and autographs.

Ripley's Aquarium

It's rather small, but it's neat. It's set up to almost force you into a single path to see everything. Going through the shark tank was the longest part but it was cool to try and see all the different animals in the tank. It is worth the money. If you ask at the gift shop counter they will give you a stamp for free readmission all day.

Patriots Point/ Fort Sumpter

It was very cool for anyone interested in military history. It is a lot of walking and tight areas though so be careful and bring walking shoes. The museum had a submarine, a battle ship, a coastguard cruiser, and a aircraft carrier. The Aircraft carrier was huge and had several tours, it would probably take 4-5 hours to see everything on the ship. But the other 3 ships could be done in 1-2 hours. After the Museum we went to Fort Sumpter, on the way we seen dolphins swimming by. Fort Sumpter was cool but not a lot to do. We took the last fairy out so we watched them lower the flags which left you with a patriotic feeling.
