Sheraton Moorea Lagoon Resort

Hotel | "Sheraton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa"

This 5-star resort nestled between two bays on the gorgeous island of Moorea is one hotel that actually lives up to the glossy print brochures. Although the location is the furthest from the airport and ferry docks, the Sheraton boasts the best beachfront property on the island, hands down. You will welcome the seclusion and tranquility of the well kept property and generous sized bungalows. The Garden Suite is the hotel's standard room and is a private bungalow with just one other room on the other side. Each bungalow features a patio, 25" Sony flatscreen TV, tall vaulted ceilings, DVD player and modern interior decor. Although the hotel has the markings of the Sheraton chain, it is also uniq...Read More

La Plantation

Restaurant

Quote:
A beautiful restaurant with a million dollar zip code, La Plantation offers exquisite French and Polynesian cuisine. The main dining area is an intimately lit patio with plenty of mosquitos, so layer on the insect repellent or they will make a meal out of you. The service is painstakingly slow, but forgivable when you take the first bite of an amazing cornish game hen smothered in a sauce so delicious, it should be illegal. The menu is concise and overpriced, but what La Plantation lacks in quantity, they more than compensate with quality. Starters include common island fare such as crab cakes and an assortment of seafood plates. The delicately baked cream puff appetizer with warm spiced apple...Read More

A visit to Moorea would not be complete without a night at the Tiki Village. The locals serve up the perfect combination of culture and cuisine without being too gimicky or predictable. The village is open Tuesday through Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday. Transportation and dinner packages can be arranged through your hotel and run about $90 per person for the show, dinner, and shuttle service. You can also purchase a package for the show and transportation only for $75, but I highly recommend the dinner. It is a buffet of mouthwatering, authentic Polynesian food. Amazing! When you arrive, the sun is just beginning to set and the view is simply breathtaking. There is a brief cockta...Read More

Motu picnic

Attraction

Quote:
After the Crocodile Hunter tragedy, we were a little wary about the stingray feeding and Motu picnic tour, but couldn't pass up on the opportunity to live like the cast of Lost for a day. Motu is a private island, accesible by boat, which is expertly guided by several tour companies, all which can be arranged through your hotel concierge. Most of the tour companies offered the stingray feeding and picnic lunch for around 4500 XPF (US$50).The tour leaves around 10am, and includes snorkel equipment, although most hotels offer this complimentary for hotel guests. After a short but bumpy boat ride to the Motu, we arrived on a deserted tropical island. Wild roosters roamed the sandy beac...Read More
