Dallas - Forthworth is a sprawling urban area, remarkably cosmopolitan, filled with giant malls, corporate headquarters, ethnic stores and drive-thru's, where everything comes big.

Claypit
Everything is big in Dallas, and Claypit is no exception. The interior feels more like a banquet hall than an exotic Indian restaurant, and yes the portions are huge! I saw almost every patron leave the restaurant with a takeaway box with leftovers. Be prepared to expect a very generous amount of food with your order!

Claypit is raved as one of the best contemporary Indian restaurants in the country! But honestly, I didn't find the flavors that tantalizing; it was in fact no different than any other Manhattan Indian restaurant. The live music (combination of mellow tunes of sitar and tabla), however, made the difference for me. And the waiters were pretty friendly.

Claypit is conveniently located in Beltline road in Addition (Northwest of downtown Dallas - between the city of Dallas and Irving), which is a popular restaurant destination as it's lined with other banquet hall sized restaurants.

@the Revolving restaurant
The ubiquitous ball on top of the Reunion tower in Hyatt Regency hovering over Dallas skyline houses a revolving restaurant that offers a panoramic view of the city. But as you guessed, it's more of a tourist attraction than a serious restaurant. So be prepared to expect a limited menu and under-par service. It's best to go for just the view and for a couple of drinks with regular round of appetizers than for a full dinner. The view is worth the trip up the tower though.

This could have been a fabulous restaurant!

Nobu
Nobu is located in Dallas's most luxurious hotel, the Crescent Court, and is probably one of the trendiest places to eat out in town. And the best part is that it's pretty easy to get reservations (compared to Nobu in New York that is); we made reservation the same evening we went there.

Nobu's chic interior with uplifting decor, knowledgeable wait staff, along with great food makes for a great dining experience. If you are a first timer to Nobu and don't mind dropping in $100 each for you and your date, go for the chef's selection of some six course meal that your waiter recommends and you won't be disappointed.
