Life in Vermont

A November 2003 trip to Grafton by rad1921

An area for solitude.

We've stayed here twice now, first in 2003 and again in 2006. In 2006, they added a/c and phones to the rooms, but their Cell service doesn't accommodate Verizon Wireless.

The breakfasts here are delicious and plentiful with great waitresses. The restaurant on site is not 5-star as they claim, and the prices they charge are no cheaper than eating at Sardi's in NYC.

No TV's in the rooms, and there's nothing to do in the area other than going to their local cheese factory or their local ski area which is small. Also, no kids.

If you enjoy solitude and a lot of reading or just sitting around doing nothing, or taking a walk to nowhere, then this is the place to go to.

For more lodging or dining choices and shopping, we highly suggest going the 45 minute drive to Manchester Village, VT.
