Sacramento and Such

An October 2006 trip to Sacramento by thebeachypeach

I visit the Sacramento area often. Here are some of my favorite hotels, restaurants, and shops in and around Sacramento, CA.

I stayed at the Rocklin Park Hotel in January 2006 for two nights. When I registered online, I requested a king sized bed, but non were available. The check-in staff were helpful, but said there was no way he could get us a king sized bed. I booked through a discount website and it was about $119 per night.

We arrived late at night, about 9:30pm, and it felt that we were the only ones at the hotel. I don't even remember seeing anyone else but the person at the reception desk.

Our double room was spacious and very clean and the decor is almost like that of a lodge. There were complimentary robes for us to use and refrigerator mini bar for a surcharge. In the bathroom they offered decent toiletries and a great selection of coffee and teas.

The hotel is right off the freeway (you can see it while driving) but we didn't hear any traffic noise and slept well through the night. I would stay at the Rocklin Park Hotel again. We were gone most of the day, so I didn't get a chance to check out the spa or exercise facilities. Although my boyfriend said that the Zinfandel Grille was good.
