This is a great trail if you want to experience the Eastern Sierra's and have some great views in all directions. The climb starts in the pines until you reach the cinder slopes near the John Muir Wilderness. The hike is somewhat demanding but if your in good shape it should not be a problem. Once you reach the crest you have great views in 360 degrees with views of Mammoth lakes below, the Minarets and other far off mountain ranges. It's a little crowded at the lower elevations but thins out as you move above 10,000 foot.
