Pittsburgh - A view from the hillsMore Photos

Driving south on I-279 you enter a tunnel that cuts through one of the many hills residing in the Appalachian valley. After exiting this tunnel your breath is taken away. Ahead, snuggled deep in the hillside, lies Pittsburgh, Pa. A bustling Metropolis surrounded by three rivers, the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio.

Pittsburgh - A view from the hills
Pittsburgh has come a long way. Built upon the manufacturing of coal and steel, it was once known as a "dirty" and "dreary" city. Now, Pittsburgh's skyline stands tall and proud. A city full of culture, fine arts, and progress.

Quick Tips:

Pittsburgh has many activities going on throughout the year. Festivals abound at the triangular part of the city known as the "point". These festivals include the Arts, Film ,Music, and Rib festival. Last, but not least, is the city's pride and joy "The Pittsburgh Steelers". Take a trip down to Heinz Stadium and experience the excitement that a professional football game can provide.

Best Way To Get Around:

Because of Pittsburgh's geography, pedestrians can get almost anywhere on foot. The major forms of mechanical transportation are the subway, bus lines, and taxi.

Restaurant

The Primanti Brothers restaurants are a legend in both Pittsburgh and the surrounding states. Where else can you go 24 hours a day and order a steak sandwich smothered with cheese, tangy coleslaw, and homemade fries? You have to experience it to believe it.

A Night on the TownBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

Station Square has so many great clubs, it is difficult, if not impossible, to choose just one. Depending on your mood, you can visit a club that has been converted from an old church offering great live performances or visit the eclectic bunch at the constantly changing Lava Lounge. If you can't decide, go to the Matrix, a club that houses fives separate music bars each with their own music style and genre.
