The resort is in a beautiful wooded area. There’s a nice pond with a fountain and there are walking trails in the forest. There’s an indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, indoor spa, game room and fitness room. Many activities are offered. I attended the basic aerobic class and I really enjoyed it. There’s video rental for $6.99 a movie or $16.95 for the week. There are 2 computers available in the welcome center. We had a 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom attached unit. One bedroom had a queen size bed and TV, one had a king size bed, TV, whirlpool tub and bathroom and one had 2 twin beds and a TV. Both had large kitchens and living rooms and we left the door open between the 2 units. The units were very clea...Read More

This is a nice family restaurant with good food. All seats have views of the water. We watched people parasailing and windsurfing while we ate. There are benches and a gazebo on the deck that you can enjoy, but food isn’t served out there. We visited at lunch which is served from 11am to 3:30pm, and there was a large menu. There were 10 appetizers, including stuffed mushrooms and nachos. There were 10 deep fried platters to choose from, salads, and sandwiches. The meals range from $8 to $18. The 3 entrees we had were: shrimp platter, fish tacos, and steak and shrimp, and they were all very good. We had key lime pie, Reese’s pieces pie and vanilla ice cream for dessert, and they were goo...Read More

This was a very enjoyable two hour high energy music show. There are about 10 performers and musicians per show. There’s singing, dancing, and comedy. There’s music for everyone: country, pop, patriotic, gospel, 50’s, and 60’s. The violinist is outstanding! The regular season is April through October and the show changes every year. They also have family comedy nights on Friday during the summer. There is a Christmas show in November and December. Admission is $21, and there are $1 discount coupons in the Sunny Day Guide which you can pick up at the visitor center. Reservations are suggested. There’s a 15 minute intermission and there’s a snack bar with popcorn, candy, and drinks availa...Read More

The Elizabethan Gardens are a 10 1/2 acre garden located in Fort Raleigh National Historic Site adjacent to the Lost Colony’s Waterside Theatre in Manteo, North Carolina. We visited in September and the gardens were open from 9AM to 6 PM. Admission is $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors, $5.00 for students and children under 5 are free.An impressive brick wall and gatehouse are at the entrance. There are sunken gardens, topiary gardens, rose gardens, and an herb garden. The gardens were beautiful and I’m sure they’re even better when the rhododendrons are in bloom. We saw butterflies, hummingbirds, lizards and rabbits as we walked through the gardens. Many paths wind through a shade fores...Read More
