The old town is picturesque, built mainly for tourists, but one night here was enough, the weather can turn and be very unpleasant.

Overview

pelican
Mykonos has a very picturesque little town for an overnight stay, with narrow walkways to sightsee, shop, and dine and its uniformly whitewashed walls and blue trim. Compliance with this color scheme is necessary for them to be connected to the municipal electric and water supply, as told by our taxi driver.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Taxi, scooter, bicycle, or walk. There is no public transportation for this small town.
Elysium
Elysium Hotel, bills itself as a gay resort hotel and straight friendly, is a bit of a hike (300 meters) downhill from old town on this island offers accommodations in a beautiful setting with a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, gym, spa, steam room, dry heat sauna, air conditioning, hair dryer, mini-fridge, narrow bathtub, and TV.

Breakfast buffet is included from 8:30am to 11:30am. High speed Internet is available in the lobby and in the room for an additional fee.

My partner detected mildew smell in our room, we can see the ceilings and walls repainted where there may have been mildew. The beds are firm as they are elsewhere we've slept in Greece. It's a pleasant enough place, taxi from town back to the hotel was around €3. But I would still prefer to stay in town.

Check-in is at 2pm, check-out is at 12pm. Credit cards are accepted.

Restaurant

Donut Factory
Donut Factory is worthy of a stop in for a visit for their homemade cooking. We had their strawberry tart for €3, along with a small carton of milk fed the both of us. We were about to have dinner first, but had this first when I saw their strawberry tart. And it was decadently delicious. I'll have fond memories of this strawberry tart photo.

Ramrod ClubBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

Ramrod Club is a gay bar located by Taxi Square on the upper floor above a restaurant with outdoor seating and a large floor for dancing and a large video screen. When we went it around 8pm, there was only one other customer. These kind of places doesn't get busy till around 11pm, too late for us to want to hang around. Around October, this is one of two places open this time of the year.

Porta BarBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

Porta Bar
Porta Bar is on a side street near Niko's Fish Taverna not far from the Harbor Front. This place gets busy and already has a crowd when we arrived around 10pm. There's no dancing here, just milling about, drinking, socializing.
