Intercontinental Cairo

A June 2006 trip to Cairo by Karlee106

We spent 4 nights at the Intercontinental in early June. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We were especially impressed with the staff that met us at the airport and whisked us quickly through customs and transported us directly to the hotel.

The Intercontinental was very secure, which made for a pleasant, worry free stay. The service and amenities are very good and the restaurants, especially the Lebanese restaurant, are excellent. The hotel is in a good location for day trips and even in the evening we would venture out onto the streets and feel perfectly safe. We even took a late night stroll across the Nile to eat at the "Chili's" which is on a docked Riverboat. The menu is the same as the US, but it is cheaper, and no alcohol is served. We just thought it would be cool to say we ate in a Chili's on a boat in the Nile...and it was! We will return to Cairo, and the Intercontinental would be a top choice again.
