Quote: This is my home town. Home to the famous Blue Lake, Mt Gambier and has some magnificent coastal scenery and extinct volcanos. The industries around the city include grape growing, dairy farms, horticulture and mainly Radiata pine plantations. The city is also home to many underground caves and parks/gardens.

One of many fantastic dining places in the town, Jonties Cafe offers Mediterranean, Asian and Aussie food. It makes great use of colour in the decor, has a large party room out the back, unisex toilets, extensive bar and also a gallery which features local artists. Also has brochures of local attractions. Great staff and very friendly.

Reasonably new place, unique interior and lots of choices on the menu. Specializes in Mediterranean and Asian, not a lot of traditional Aussie food though. Have excellent facilities for 21sts and parties, have a great range of cakes and fantastic cocktails!

This is the famous Blue Lake. The colour comes from limestone under the water which refracts the light somehow and makes it look blue. No - it doesn't come out of the tap dark blue. You have to get a lot of it together to see the colour.
