Where Floridians Spend a Weekend

Overview

Quote:
Probably the best thing about Jacksonville is it is close to St Augustine, the nations oldest city. Many people travel through Jacksonville on their way there not realizing what they have missed. Jacksonville has a great zoo, many interesting museums ( try the Maritime Museum) and a great arts focus community.

Quick Tips:

Try going to the Jacksonville Landing for shopping and eating. It is right on the St. Johns river and quite a site.

Best Way To Get Around:

Downtown is easy to walk around and they also have a small monorail. The rest of the public transportation is good also.

Great hotel and very reasonable during the off season. It is also right across the river from the Jacksonville Landing and you can either walk across the bridge (10 minutes) or take a ferry taxi.
