The Villa Roma is located in New York's beautiful Sullivan County Catskills. My fiance (who is a teacher) and I went here for a teachers conference - in which I was allowed to tag along. This resort was absolutely beautiful! Everything is luxurious and stylish.

Since this is a resort, and we were here for the teachers conference, we never even had to leave the resort. Everything you want to do is at your disposal. For those of you that like to play golf, though we didn't, we heard that the course was spectacular. They have a pool with a hot tub (they supply the towels for you), a work out room with weights, lots of land to jog, and so much more. While my fiance was at one of the mid-day conferences, I went in to the town (only about 4 minute drive). What an adorable little town. They have all kinds of shops there and the prices weren't bad at all in some of them. Drove back to the resort feeling like I had been on a adventure. The nicest area is the solarium - it is heaven and tranqui. You can even walk out onto the dock.

Quick Tips:

The food here is exquisite, you will not get better food than here, so get your appetites ready. If you like to swim or even just soak in a hot tub - bring your suit. Be sure to bring along nice jeans for during the day and a nice outfit for evening wear (men must wear a dinner jacket).

Best Way To Get Around:

Since this resort provides everything, you can drive around the area if you chose - though it is not necessary. The town is in walking distance, but maybe a 15 minute walk max.
The Place was fabulous! Everything imaginable was at your disposal. I can honestly say that we were never bored. There always seemed to be something to keep me busy, if it wasn''t glorious walks along the property, it might have been swimming in their luxurious pool, or even just basking in the hot tub in a semi-slumber. The decor of the Villa Roma is beautiful and stylish. As soon as you walk into the main lobby, your mouth will drop open due to the splendor. The service is wonderful, the rooms are tidy as can be (they supply mini bottles of shampoo/conditioner and soap), there are hair dryers in each room (so no need to pack one), in short - everything was at your disposal. While staying here, you will feel more relaxed than you thought possible. Definitly a lap of luxury without paying an exorborant amount of money - it is worth every penny they charge.

Restaurant

We booked our dinner in advance, since we heard it is hard to get in if you don't. Our dinner was exquisite, displayed perfectly - -yet, left me still hungry after the meal. We had an enjoyable evening with 2 of our newly acquired friends. It started off with a bang, we are all happy & laughing, but by the time the food finally got there, we were now dragging and ready for bed. The food here was excellent but knowing how long the dinner dragged, next time will go to one of the other eating areas for dinner. If you are not big eaters and prefer the ambiance and tranquility of the slow going evening, this would be perfect for you.
