Snorkel at the Tunnels Beach, in the tunnels - you won't believe how beautiful it can be. Waimea Canyon - breathtaking! No matter the weather, go for at least 1 hike. We took the Keke'e trail (4 miles), but saw 2 beautiful waterfalls - that were so worth the hike. Do not give up until you reach the end or you'll never see them. Poipu beach is the best surfing beach on the island. We saw 2 Monk seals, one was a baby. Go to the Hidden Beach in Haena - so peaceful, perfect for honeymooners. All of the beaches were beautiful though our favorite was a small beach right off of the road that we just happend to fall upon - pure heaven.
Quick Tips:
If you are going to rent a car, I recommend a convertible - the scenery is too beautiful to be missed while traveling in an enclosed car. Bring a light jacket/or sweater, Kauai is known for it's rainy weather. Drink as much water as possible, you will dehydrate if you don't. When swimming, be very careful to always read the signs, the waters can be very dangerous.Best Way To Get Around:
By car is the only way to go if you plan on sightseeing all over the island, preferably in a convertible.
