Overview

Vegas is that city that looks like a city from Mars landed in the middle of the desert. Even the McDonald's there have Vegas like signs. There are several things that just can’t be missed while visiting Vegas: 1.My favorite part of Vegas was hands down the fountains at the Bellagio. Even the people who I talked to and live in Vegas love this show.2. Stop by the Little Buddha in the Palms for some of the most exotic drinks.3. Watching the gondolas at the Venetian.4. Mardi Gras at the Rio.5. Walking through Paris at the Paris.6. Forum shops at Caesar’s Palace.7. Pot stickers at P.F. Chang8. Waterfalls at the Wynn.9. Finding my lost shaker of sal...Read More

Although I didn’t stay here when in Vegas, I spent quite a bit of my time in this casino for a convention that I was attending. While there, I did a fair bit of wandering around on my breaks.Masquerade in the Sky: There are several shows at the Rio including Tony and Tina’s wedding and the Chippendale dancers, but this is the free show. They do seven shows daily ending at 9:30pm. Fifteen minutes before the show starts, performers will run around the casino to drum up interest. The best view of the “parade” is from the balcony on the second floor. Up there, the floats will come within feet of you. The floats come out of a panel in the wall and have performers dancing on them. People can purchase t...Read More

If you are not looking for the glitz and glamour of the hotel on the stripe then the Gold Coast is a great option. It’s right next door to the Rio just a stone’s throw from the Palm’s. Don’t expect everything that you would get from the other casinos in town. There is no theme, special decor, or outlandish entertainment, but with rooms for around $60 a night you couldn’t ask for more. Off to the side of the lobby is a small casino with poker tables and a few slot machines. There is a very small bar next to the casino where there was live music at night. The casino also offers a few restaurants in the hotel as well as a pool, a two-screen movie theater, and one of the biggest and best bowling a...Read More

A unique blend of Pacific Rim (mainly Chinese) cuisine mixed with French flavor makes this place not only the most interesting food in Vegas, but also one of my favorites. The staff is friendly and is great at recommending items from their menu; however, you really can’t go wrong with anything that you get. The drinks run around $10 and their drink lists include cocktails that I have never heard of, but are fabulous. I had a Dragonfly (nigor saki, strol raspberry, chambordi, and pineapple juice) and Karma (strol raspberry, peach schnapps, lime juice, and cranberry juice). They were amazing. The food was perfect. They offer a wide variety of sushi (nigiri and maki) including Califor...Read More

PF Chang's China Bistro

PF Chang is one of my favorite restaurants in Las Vegas. They offer a lively atmosphere that seems very crowed and loud at first, but after a few minutes it feeds into the charm of the restaurant, and actually put me in the mood for more of a "family style" dinner (many different plates and everyone sharing). I was there for a dinner with a company I worked as a sales rep for along with all of the designers, logistics people, CEO, and anyone else you would expect to see in a small manufacturing company in all a total of a little over 30 people. We had reservations and the wait staff was more than ready for us. I was highly impressed how they were able to bring a continuous flow of food to our table wh...Read More

From the outside it is almost hard to miss this place among the lights of the strip, but if you find this place you are in for a treat after all “all trespassers will be given a shot”. Margaritaville is located in the Flamingo. It is well themed and offers a wide variety of drinks from three different bars; the most popular being the volcano bar near the entrance. On the inside is the place has a sailboat theme with a Caribbean twist and behind the main bar there is a slide going down into an oversized blender. The booths are even shaped like fishing boats and even include giant rods and reels sticking out from them. Near one of the bars in the back there is a stage for a live band, but the place is s...Read More

The fountain in front of the Bellagio is a must-see when in Vegas. This breathtaking sight isn’t on display all the time. Shows start at 3pm and run until 12am on the weekdays, and run from 12pm to 12am on the weekends. They run every half hour from 12pm until 8pm and then every 15 minutes after 8pm. The show only lasts five minutes, but the crowd starts to form at least 10 minutes in advance. Even locals stop to watch the show, because it is always a sight to behold. The show takes place in the 8.5-acre lake in front of the Bellagio and features more then 1,000 shooting fountains. The movement of the water is enhanced by spectacular lighting and is choreographed to various songs such as One, Sing...Read More

Attraction | "Caesar's Palace"

Caesar’s Palace is huge and very easy to get lost in. Besides the gambling, the decor, Celine Dion selling out shows, and the Elton John shop loudly proclaiming that "the Bitch is back," the Forum shops and Appian Way were hands down the most unusual shopping on the strip. The floors are made to look like cobble stone and the ceiling is painted to look like the sky. You really get the sense that you are leaving Las Vegas. There are Greek statutes all over and Roman columns. This is a true shopper’s paradise. There are over 100 shops and restaurants that include everything from Armani Exchange, Abercrombie & Fitch, Nike Town, and the Cheesecake Factory to Burberry, Dior, Fendi, and Louie Vuitton...Read More
