Sundance Square and downtown FortWorth offer a lot of culture, history and entertainment. There are tons of things to do in this town, it would be hard to see everything unless you had a lot of time. Sundance Square is one of the main hot spots in Fort Worth offer places to eat, hotels, movie theaters, clubs, bars, comedy, music, and shopping. During the holiday season there is a huge Christmas tree and lots of light around the square and it is very pretty.
The downtown area offers some food and entertainment as well but mostly tall buildings and businesses consume this part of town. There is a water garden and the convention center, which will provide some entertainment. There is a part of downtown that is called the cultural district and it has the Fort Worth Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, TCU, Japanese Gardens, and a few parks.
The city of Fort Worth offers lots of shopping and dinning as a whole. The restaurant that we ate at was near a mall about 10-15 minutes from downtown. Everything is pretty close and is easy to get to. Since Fort Worth is such a big city many big and small city and suburbs surround it making shopping, dinning, and entertainment even more abundant. Leaving a never dull moment and plenty of things to do. I really enjoy all that Fort Worth has to offer. I do not get there enough and enjoy the times I do go. It seems as though it is so hard to get everything done in one trip.
Downtown/Sundance Square is by far my favorite place. It has so much to do and see and the food is great. I have been there for movies, dinner, and just hanging out. I have a great time when I am there.

Quick Tips:

Suggestions for downtown would be to find the free parking on the weekends for sure. Be aware of people handing out stuff. There are always people handing out flayer and tracks and other things. You might find some good stuff for the clubs or bars. Look for coupons in the hotels and area places like the mall. There are two malls in the Fort Worth area and a third either in Fort Worth or right outside in a surrounding town. The zoo is a great zoo and they have ½ price Wednesdays. The Botanical Gardens, which are right next to the zoo, are free for the main garden and is truly breath taking. TCU campus is very pretty as well and there is some great shopping and dinning around there as well. These are some of the places I suggest checking out.

Best Way To Get Around:

The best way to get around Sundance Square is to find a parking garage or in our case we had valet parking in the hotel and walk around. The parking garages are usually free on weekends, starting late Friday evening. There is just so much to see and do in Sundance Square that you are better off parking.

The Goods
For breakfast we walked right out the side door of our hotel and walked right into the Corner Bakery. I was pretty excited when I walked around the corner of the restaurant and saw all the fresh breads sitting in front of me. Everything looked so good. I grabbed a menu and began to read what I would want. I overheard a few of the girls that were with us saying the French toast is great. So being a fan of sweets I decided to go with that. You can’t go wrong with French toast. Not to mention the description was enough to sell me.

The description read something like cinnamon raisin toast baked in a vanilla French custard, served with our homemade vanilla syrup, apple wood smoked bacon, and a side of fresh fruit medley. Now unless you just hate French toast I do not know how you could pass up a description like that. It just sounds so great. I ordered that and a water, not a big beverage fan for breakfast, then headed to my table. When my French toast was delivered I got very excited.

Corner Bakery has tons of seating and on a Saturday morning it is a hopping place. There is about eight tabels outside so on a nice brezzing morning you can enjoy a hot cup of coffee and sit out side. We choose to sit inside since there were so many on us. That was not a problem, there were tons of big tables and the staff delivers your food. This place was a lot bigger than I expected but I know why now.

The food was great and the service was excellent. I would eat here much more if I lived close enough. Great choice for breakfast if visiting Fort Worth.

Attraction

The Bass Hall
The heart of downtown Fort Worth and the place to be on a weekend is Sundance Square. Sundance Square is an area that is filled with endless entertainment. There are tons of restaurants, comedy clubs, coffee shops, two movie theaters, several bars, and endless entertainment. Friday and Saturday nights are hopping in Sundance Square. Live bands perform at local bars and people stroll up and down the street enjoying the sights and sounds of downtown.

During the day, Sundance Square is also a sight to see, from almost anywhere you walk you can see the buildings and a beautiful sight of the down town area. Sundance Square is home to the Ball Hall, which hosts concerts, ballets, and other very nice classy events. The Bass Hall is located where you cannot miss it. Two huge angels tooting horns hold up the wall and are a sign to all that you are looking at the Ball Hall.

One of the things we did on our trip to Downtown/Sundance Square was going to Barns and Nobles. If you do not know what a Barnes and Nobel’s is, well it is a huge bookstore, 2 story to be exact. There is a Starbucks located at one entrance, where you can grab a drink and then head to your favorite section and spend hours there. With 7 girls we were scattered out and then all ended up in the same place, the magazine section reading gossip magazines. This bookstore is so big you are sure to find anything you need. I found two great books for my 2-year-old son. When I brought them home he loved them. Barnes and Nobles encourages you to spend as much time as you would like and take some time to read through or look at the books before you buy them.

I mentioned in my introduction that there are 2 movie theaters in Sundance Square, they are located right across each other and show movies at many different times. Next to one of them is the Bass Hall and next to the other one is a TCBY. Also located in Sundance Square is the Tandy Center, which has an ice skating rink and several stores and businesses. Sundance Square is a great place to spend the day or the evening and be entertained by food, music, or a movie.

Schakolad chocolate factory
Right around the corner from our hotel was this great little place that had endless imaginations of chocolate. When I first walked through the door I was greeted by several different chocolate truffles, there were so many flavors it was near impossible to choose anything. I finally made a decision on 3 pieces. Once I saw the price of each piece it helped in narrowing it down. I had a chocolate mint truffle, a chocolate peanut butter truffle and a chocolate crisp cluster. All three pieces were fantastic. I liked the peanut butter one the best.

This place is also known for the huge chocolate figurines they make for any occasion and in any shape. The first thing that caught my attention was the chocolate shoes. They looked so really, like you could wear them. They also had a football, a basketball, and some other big figures. This place makes birthday packages, wedding favors, and any kind of gift or treat for any occasion. What ever the need is, they will provide and their work is great. It would make any occasion a great one.

The prices are a little high, but I guess that is to be expected when you are talking about fine chocolate. The truffles, clusters, and other little individuals are sold by the pound; $25 a pound, and can be sold by the bag or by number in select boxes. For my three pieces of candy it was a little over three dollars.

This place really is great and I highly recommend trying it even if it is just a bite. Good Luck picking that one bit though.
