How hot it was - but I loved it; SO many sanguaro cactuses, especially towards Tuscon, how quickly the landscape changed driving into Sedona; the "haunted" town of Jerome

This was a really fun, really delicious restaurant. Great decorations and service. Food was really good too. They had a dessert platter - $12 - and it had about 5 full size desserts for your table (I would hope) to share. It was really delicious and I highly recommend every one trying this place if you see one.

We were staying in the Phoenix area but drove up to Sedona one day. The landscape seems to change so quickly in Arizona as you drive places as it is, but Sedona was amazing. One minute you are in a brown desert and the next everything is brick red with beautiful mountains around you. The day we were there, a huge rainstorm came in so we weren't able to walk around (HUGE raindrops...!) but just driving, it was beautiful. There seemed to be a lot to do. Desert tours in jeeps - they looked fun.

Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Best of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Desert Museum"

This was a really fun and educational museum in Tuscon, right in the middle of the desert with - literally - millions of sanguaro cactuses in every direction. Walking paths all over the museum and you get to see and learn all about desert plants and animals. They even have snakes, spiders, etc. to see. A huge, walk in place to see birds too. Interesting information on how Sanguaros grow - it takes them 150 years to grow their first "arm". Which is why, I think, it's illegal to cut them down. Just make sure you have lots of water with you - it gets very, very hot and dehydrating walking around outside in Arizona heat. But it was a beautiful museum, highly recommend it.

We spent part of the day driving all around Scottsdale. From what I've heard, Scottsdale is the Beverly Hills of Phoenix. And I can see why. The city of Scottsdale is very pretty, I would LOVE to go shopping there (if I could afford it...!) Then we went driving around up in the hills. This is where all the rich people live. Worth driving up there A) just to see the gorgeous views and B) just to see those houses - or should I say mansions! We stopped and got a brochure for one house they were building and selling. It was something like $3 million. It had two bathrooms for the master bedroom - a his and hers! But the people who live up there have a beautiful view. They must be able to see for ...Read More
