B&B￿Best of IgoUgo

Story/Tip

It is very typical to go up to Mandalay hill in order to see the sunshine. Of course I went up, and while I was waiting I saw a very beautiful and luxurious terrace, with very comfortable armchairs but nobody was sitting there. I thought it was a good idea to sit there because it looked like a bar. So, I sat waiting for the waiter. Suddenly a boy appeared behind me and in a very low voice he said me: Excuse me sir but this is a "beanbe" area. I thought,: a B&B area??? And then, as I was very convinced a waiter was going to come, I asked him for a drink. The boy repeated to me: Excuse me sir "beanbe" area.... After three times he said: Sir, this is a militar area... Ohhhh, sorry I was understanding B&B. The poor boy was saying V.I.P. but his pronunciation was so terrible, and he spoke so loudly that I wasn´t able to understand him. Then I was killing myself laughing to death of the story.

Visiting PagodasBest of IgoUgo

Story/Tip

If you are thinking to visit Myanmar don´t forget to take an important amount of wet tissues. It is compulsory to come into pagodas without any kind of shoes nor socks. So, when you finish the visit, above all if it rains, your soles will be dirty. If your are going to travel with a guide, it is probably that he/she will provide you that. Anyway, it is very advisable to add an extra-amount of these kind of wet Kleenex in your luggage.
