Trips to Colorado

A March 2004 trip to Colorado Springs by watsonmonkeysmom

Zio's Italian Kitchen

Restaurant | "Zios Italian Kitchen"

Zios is a great Italian restaurant. It has the same lively, friendly atmosphere as Jonny Carinos and Olive Garden, but feels more like "home". The restaurant is well lit and the perfect place for a family gathering or celebration.

The food here is excellent, their bruschetta is wonderful, and I recommend the veal parmigianna. They have an extensive menu, a children’s, and also serve cappuccinos. Their desserts are great, we ordered 2 and shared them.

If you are going on a weekend (close to dinner hours) I would try to call ahead, we had quite a wait.

This is your typical zoo, but, we went during Christmas season, and they had the park lit up beautifully (at night).

We fed the giraffes (indoors-it's stinky but well worth the experience!)

This is a lot of walking, and plenty of uphill walking, if you have young kids (even if they generally walk) you might want to bring a stroller or consider renting one. My sons legs got tired quickly.
