We enjoyed it so much the first time we went back and took another couple with us. We stayed in the Truman Annex Shipyard, which is in a quaint little neighborhood that was close to Duval and Mallory Square yet had a quiet residential feel. We had a two-bedroom one bathroom unit that was nice, but not luxurious. Try Smather’s Beach for a quiet afternoon. It’s a half-mile stretch of sandy man-made beach with sand from the Bahamas. There are restrooms, concession stands, chair rentals, bike paths, picnic tables, and volleyball nets. Rick’s on Duval has Karaoke. It’s a hoot and they have good pina coladas, too. Just a block off Duval Street Meteor's is the place to go for ribs in Key West. But that's not all they have. The menu offers a variety of soups, salads, and sumptuous BBQ platters. The ribs are available dry or wet, most rib connoisseurs have their favorite way to have them cooked. A vegetarian menu (the Garden Burger and the Marinated Portabella Mushroom Sandwich)is also available. I had the Cesar Salad with pulled pork on the top.
