An October 2005 trip
to Humahuaca by Robert Raymond Ingledew
Quote: Jujuy is a beautiful province with a lot of history and scenic views. For example: Humahuaca, Purmamarca, Termas de Reyes and Lagunas de Yala are all places worthwhile visiting, and the scenic road from Jujuy to Salta.
You can find budget hotels for a night, although the best could cost to .
There are regular bus services about every half hour from the city of Jujuy to Purmamarca, Tilcara, and Humahuaca, so if you wish to avoid paying a tour, you can use the local buses and then use taxis to get around at each destination. If you do this, visit the Paseo de los Colorados in Purmamarca. It will cost you less than and you will enjoy the scenery. Then at Tilcara you take a taxi to the Pucara, and at Humahuaca to take a taxi to Peñas Blancas to have a scenic view of the village.
Just have a look at the photos. I am sure you will enjoy them.
From Salta: Full day tour. You will really enjoy it. There is a lot to see.
